Step 1: Embrace most foods, but No Fast Food!
My plan allows you to eat all food, with one important exception: FAST FOOD
You can enjoy meals from restaurants serving rice bowls, pizza places, Chinese restaurants, and even chicken wings.
Dine-in or take-out from Applebee's, Chili's, or Olive Garden, etc... is also perfectly fine. It's about making conscious choices, not starving yourself.
Fast food restaurants follow the phrase "Fat equals flavor". They need to put fat and chemicals into the food to make it melt in your mouth. If you eat from your kitchen, you know the ingredients in what you are preparing. The meal will always be less harmful for your weight.
I personally don’t cook well, and sometimes for dinner, you don’t know what to eat. Do not sleep on microwave TV dinners. The first thing people say about them, is “oh, the sodium is high.” Think about it. If you eat fast food, the sodium is through the roof!
Step 2: Delivery is not your friend
When people said they gained weight during the pandemic, they said they got food delivered to their house. Red flag number one.
Start by stopping delivery orders. Instead, opt for takeout. Call the restaurant or order inside, and bring your delicious meals home. I don't even have pizza delivered. It's a small change with a big impact on your eating habits, as well as your wallet.
Cook for yourself or have someone do it for you. Heat up something, microwave it, deep fry it, or air fry it (p.s., air fryers are great to eat already frozen french fries, chicken strips, tater tots, etc.)
Step 3: The secret exercise
For exercise, I recommend 20 jumping jacks a day. You can start with a couple and increase over time. If not, try jumping in place. This minimal exercise, combined with smart food choices, surprisingly works. It truly is mainly all about the food, but this movement goes a long way! I continue to do them almost every day. If I seem to be gaining weight, I do 20 and I'm back to normal. If this doesn't work for you, just work on the food side of the plan.
Step 4: The Schedule
I eat breakfast, a snack, lunch, a snack, dinner, dessert, and a snack before I go to bed. For working people, you will have to do this at certain specific hours. My schedule is based on time. You will never be hungry.
An at home schedule (like me):
11:30 am. - Breakfast
1:pm - Snack
2:30 pm. - Lunch
4:00 pm. - Snack
5:30 pm - Dinner and Dessert
Then eat a snack before you go to bed.
A working schedule:
7 am – eat a frozen breakfast sandwich or burrito (donut or pastry) at home or in car on the way to work.
10am - 15 minute break – eat snack (bring or buy)
12 pm - Lunch – Eat whatever! Except fast food.
2pm - 15 minute break - eat snack
4pm - snack
6pm - Dinner – Eat TV dinner or cook whatever
Eat dessert – something sweet
Snack before bed – eat snack before going to sleep
I know you have heard this before…The only way to lose weight is to eat a healthy diet, exercise a lot, and change your lifestyle. I don’t agree! I believe that method will Ruin Your Life! That is not the only way to lose weight. When I hear people say that, my heart drops a little.
